Dermal fillers have many benefits as they are usually well-tolerated. They can sometimes treat wrinkles more reliably and can be easily dissolved if that is desired.

How Long Does It Take To Notice Results?

Results from dermal fillers are immediate and continue to improve over the next 1 to 2 weeks as the gel integrates with other skin structures.

How Long Will Results Last?

Depending on the dermal filler used results typically last from 6 to 18 months.

Can I Get Dermal Fillers If I Don’t Have Wrinkles?

You do not need to get fillers before the first signs of wrinkles but people are opting to have them done at younger and younger ages. The majority of patients looking for injectables are actually under 30 years old. Most dermatologists believe that starting relatively young may have its benefits. Those who start earlier with small amounts do age different to those who didn’t. They always say prevention is better than a cure. But of course there are cheaper ways of preventing ageing such as wearing sunscreen and using retinol.

Is There Any Reason I Shouldn’t Get Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are considered safe but there are a number of reasons that you might want to postpone your injection. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or are battling a sinus infection then it may be a good idea to hold off until you are better because the infection could spread to the injection site. It is also a good idea to avoid a filler right before a teeth cleaning or any other dental treatment as those procedures require pressure and stretching of the face that could potentially misplace the fillers.

Is The Treatment Painful?

The dermal filler gel contains an anaesthetic to minimise discomfort during the procedure.

What Are Possible Side Effects?

Side effects may include mild redness, tenderness, bruising, firmness, swelling and lumpiness. Side effects are generally temporary and dissipate within a week of treatment. Long term side effects are rare.

The Process?

During your initial complimentary consultation Dr Mirjana Janjic will take your medical history, assess your aesthetic needs, recommend the type of filler and dose, discuss contraindications, the procedure details, potential side effects, aftercare and maintenance plan.

The procedure typically takes 30-45 minutes.

Camouflage mineral make up can be used during first few days if redness or bruising needs to be covered.

You should wait at least 2-4 weeks before having any other aesthetic or anti-ageing procedures.
