How Does Silhouette Soft® Work?

Silhouette Soft® combines two effects: lifting and regenerating. While the lifting effect is immediate and discreet the regenerative effect is gradual and natural. 

After applying local anaesthetic to insertion and exit points, Dr Mirjana Janjic will insert the suture under the skin (to a depth of about 3 to 5 millimetres). No incision is required as the suture is inserted using a fine needle. The suture is held in place with absorbable cones oriented in opposite directions acting as “anchors” under the skin thus providing the initial lifting effect.

The Polylactic Acid (PLA) is the principal component of Silhouette Soft®. PLA has been used in the medical field for many years in suture threads and is completely absorbable by the human body. Once the suture is inserted under the skin PLA acts on the deeper layers of the skin and naturally stimulates the body to produce its own collagen. 

Once the suture has been applied Dr Mirjana Janjic may perform a slight compression of the tissue to reshape it by hand and to obtain the desired lifting effect. Two or more sutures may be applied depending on the patient and treated areas.

Results typically last up to 18 months and in some cases even longer.
